ABSOLUT ICEBAR STOCKHOLM

Definately one of the coolest places Ive been to. For 150 kr we had 45 minutes plus 1 free drink. Not too bad actually. And the drinks are really awesome. My favorite was the "Absolut London Icebar". A bit sweet but oh so yummy. After 5 drinks we left for GRILL, a place on Drottningatan. Apparently it is the same guy who owns it that has Aquavit in New York. Need I say more? The place was really cool. Warm and cosy atmosphere. This is DEFINATELY one of my favorite places in Stockholm.
Tonight, party in Stockholm with sister and friends! Looking forward to it!!

Bollinger or not Bollinger that is the question

Back from France yesterday. Some what of a relief to come back again. Havent really had a hectic week. Rather nice actually.

So Xmas is already on Sunday, most of the xmas presents have been found. Tomorrow helping mom with the food shopping for the 3 days of doing nothing but eating. Woho I look forward to this. Hmm..
Xmas in Sweden you always eat the same. Julbord. I dont really fancy it. At all actually. Maybe the köttbullar, with a little klick av röbetssallad, but thats it. The gingerbread is always good. Especially mom's.

Sort of looking forward to going back to France to school. Will probably look back at this post thinking I was crazy wanting to study. I feel a bit deprived I guess. Feed me something please! (Intelligent if possible) Got my schedule the other day. Apparently taking Chinese classes next year. Interesting.
Found an apartment in France anyway. Croix Rousse. Sharing it with a friend of mine, O. 71 square meters for 2. Reasonable. Very reasonable. Knowing that last year I had an apartment of 9.7 sq meters. (not a joke) Not a lot of people had the priviledge to visit the fancy place. Shame really.

Voila

Woke up this morning feeling like shit. Dont really know why. Guess it's a melange des choses. The fact of having left Dubai. I really like Dubai. Or do I really? Mixed feelings. Back to Sweden. 2 days and then plane again to France. Diving into the French life. Where did all the bling bling and glamour go? French raleurs. The smell. Watching for dog shit. Le petit marché du coin. Hat-karlek/hate-love. Loving it? But for how long? Unfinished stories? Finished stories? Uncertainty but yet certain. Stress. Going back to Sweden again tomorrow. Xmas again.

no sense. just confused.

back to the roots

How can I explain this feeling...

I just left a place that is spectacular in many ways, and people that I truly care for that I might never see again. Well, maybe we will see each other again, but it will never be the same. The friendship that is created between people when they find themselves in a country far away from their own is stronger than others. Or atleast if feels like it.

Despite this, I cant deny the fact that Im happy. Happy because I get to see all my friends and family in Europe; Sweden where my family and my childhood friends are, and France where my best friend and classmates are.

The page has turned, and a new chapter begins....

Cityscape

Sitting at Cityscape exhibition at the Trade center. It is one of the biggest real estate exhibitions in the middle east. Have to say that it is quite impressive. Im amazed by all the projects that are planned for the future. Developers are planning to construct not only building, but whole CITIES. Crazy. Dubai is going to be a construction site for the next ten years. Maybe more? On of the most interesting (design wise) is the Serennia project. The shape of the hotel looks like a snake, and the enterior is in the style of contemporary art. Interesting.

Stand-wise, there arent many that really stands out. Aldar has made a really cool show with dancers, screen 3d effects, and presentation of their projects. Not bad I have to say. Otherwise, bumped in to a couple of Geishas at the Japanese architecture stand. Nice touch.

Otherwise, countdown is pacing up quickly. Dont have more than 5 days before I kiss Dubai Goo-dubai.. (Bad joke I know. At least my father laughs at it and he IS funny) Gonna be a bit sad to leave this place, though cant wait to get back to Europe. Dont know how Im gonna cope with the weather. Yesterday it was 22 degrees, and I was freezing my ass off. Good luck to me.

Tonight, Marlboro night at Trilogy organized by Nicole. Gonna be a lot of fun. Then my leaving party on Thursday at 360. Henrik o Katta vi ska traffas vid 8.30 tiden! Up for it? Drinks at Burj Al Arab on Sunday. And then Monday last day!!!!!
